Been hearing some complaints that UHC is sending letters to policy holders in Florida telling them they are no longer in network with their docs for their MAPD plans, to the tune of 200,000 members? I heard they are shrinking down the network, but wasn't sure how big it was..

Can't imagine it being that high. How many docs did they have to begin with?

Geez I am not sure, I just had a guy call me and say he is one of the "200,000 that received the letter" but he may have either not known what he was talking about or maybe that's nationwide..

Well I had a call just a little while ago from a LIS and yes he received a letter today his doctor was not in the network anymore and this particular doc is at a medical center and usually when one goes they go. If that is the case that was just about the last group that was taking it in my area.

I was speaking of Medicare Complete PPO, don't know about HMO's but an office manager of a specialist I know says they take their time paying claims and keep asking for more proof on a claim submitted.

Does anyone know WHY the docs are leaving the UHC AARP MA HMO networks?

After hearing the UHC meeting, they are a joke. They were bashing every other company out there, saying they are horrible. Instead of saying, because we have less $ from the govt we had to drop some dr.'s they decided to say they got rid of all the doctors that sucked. Which is BS they got rid of a lot of good dr's and facilities. I doubt I write one UHC MAPD this year

They are reducing huge numbers, there are no cardiac doctors in my area, and they canceled center for sight providers as well. Shooting themselves in the foot and I for one am not waiting around and watching my book fall apart. Bc/Bs here I come.

The docs are not leaving. UHC is dropping a ton of dr.'s as of October 1st.
Just got my clock cleaned by a customer ranting on the phone that I sold him crap and now he has no dr.s for 3 months.
