A very scary look at things to come =-\ There's a few good things that came out of this---

The changes are prospective-- if other companies follow suit, we can keep our residuals and try to convince people to stick with their carrier.

A lot of insurance agents will leave the industry--- more market share for the good agents. If we work super hard and make 3 times the sales, we can stay in business hopefully. Who knows what 2014 will bring though.

Of course, you're assuming that all carriers will follow the 4% model....which is not going to happen.

That block of business has been losing money for awhile. This has nothing to do with health reform. They haven't been competitive and agents still sell it so instead of pulling out of the state altogether they are lowering the commish to get agents to stop selling it. There is nothing to be worried about here.
