UIIA, is it worth it?

Hello, i have a few questions regarding UIIA, and honest opinions and guidance will be greatly appreciated.

1. do insurance agencies charge a separate fee for this service?

2. besides submitting insurance certs on behalf of clients, what else does this service entail for the agent/broker to do?

3. is it worth the hassle to provide this service?

All comes down to your expertise and vision for the future.

1. You can charge a fee for insurance (most states), but you have to determine if that is necessary

2. That's about the extent of it ; using the portal to submit the coverage.

3. It's less about hassle and more about if you have access to the carriers and backup carriers if things go sideways on an account

Ultimately, I'd say it's worth it if you are "specializing" in trucking insurance. If it's not an expertise where you have access to at least five carriers (and a few of them writing UIIA), than it may not be worth your time.

If you don't have a funnel of these types of account, or are prepared to set one up, it's likely not a good opportunity.

Like most things in life, there's no quick money. You have to be committed to a good idea or it has the potential to simply cause you more grief.
