Verizon Strike - Benefits Threat

This highlights one major flaw, employees don't own their insurance policy. This is one reason why I never have done group insurance. Now, it can be used as a threat to these unionized employees. Wanna bet they cave? Lose my paycheck or pension, that's ok. But, mess with my benefits and the sky is falling. When will we learn......they should all own private insurance.

Workers at two unions that have called strikes will lose basic health-insurance, dental, vision and prescription-drug benefits, said Richard Young, a spokesman for the company. Verizon stopped funding the workers’ pensions when their former contract expired Aug. 6, he said.
 
Yagents-You are making a glaring mistake-you are thinking logically concerning something convoluted. Don't you know it is a God given RIGHT that if you work for a large corp or govt, that you are provided health insurance? These strikers pay $0 premium for their rolls-royce health insurance-how dare Verizon make them have a pay a small premium!
