VOIP

Several years ago, I was paying $150 a month for phone service, including long distance calling.

I bought OOMA refurbished machine on ebay for $98. Hooked it up with my Frontier FIOS network and the monthly cost today is $5 for unlimited calling in the U.S.

Not one single person feels that voice quality is bad and no one knows I am using VOIP
(voice over the internet) unless I tell them.

As OOMA states, the quality of the phone is based on the quality of your internet company

Liked it so much, I added another machine for my home phone.

It really depends on what your needs are. Cisco is expensive, along with more reputed providers like Avaya. You could look into products like Jive and 8x8 for a more cost-effective solution, without suffering a hit to the quality of the service.

OOMA is real solid. I use dialpad these days and love the integration with my cell phone.

That being said so much of the experience depends on the upload / download of the location and right now during the lockdown i have heard of lots of folks complaining about various VOIP systems.
