There is no standard, commissions vary depending on the arraignment. Some are independent contractors, some are employees. I know for employee arraignments, the range is 25 to 40% of what the agency gets, of course it's higher if the producer is an IC, anywhere from 50% to 80%, and there are many factors, including is office space, support services and E&O Insurance provideded. Cluster and alliance groups even give a higher split, but at this point you are to run an agency, paying all your expenses. This industry is not like the Real Estate Industry, any and every arraingment out there probably exists among insurance agency producers.

It's different from every company. Some P&C companies pay you %5-%20.New biz

On renewable business it can be lowered %5-13%.

Life insurance can be %50-110% of the first year premium. Health is lower. Hope that helps.
