What's Humana Doing in 2015?

ok we've heard from Coventry and UHC as to their sneak peeks etc. for 2015 MAPD plans but haven't heard much about our ol' friends at Humana. Anyone know what their new plans look like for next year?

I haven't seen the benefits but premiums at least in my areas are staying the same. PPO, HMO and even PFFS. Check out the agent portal, they have the 2015 Plan Maps available in the Market PT Library.

Humana looks good until you are sick. Once you are sick and you start costing the PCP too much money. He will tell you there is no treatment besides the medication he prescribes.

They are a concentric HMO. Do you know what that is? If you do than you should know what I am talking about. If not keep writing them and you will find out when your client can't go see a certain specialist or go to the hospital they want "EVEN THOUGH THEY ARE IN NETWORK"

So when their plan says it's a PPO, it's really an HMO? How'd they get that by CMS?

I am sorry I was not more specific. Their HMO is a death trap. Their PPO is good and prpably equal to the United Healthcare PPO. I would still say United has more Dr's and hospitals than Humana.

Since we haven't a clue as to your experience maybe you can educate the rest of us. What's a concentric HMO and how would that keep a patient from being treated by their doctor.

Why is it nobody has ever pointed this out in the past?

And please, show your work. Not because we don't believe you, but because we don't believe you.
