When will be able to see what the rate increase are for Illinois? Unfortunately we won't be able to find out the commissions until probably October 31st.

The "scheduled" release date is today, Monday August 1, 2016. But there's nothing yet (2:00pm) at https://ratereview.healthcare.gov/ or Welcome to Illinois Department of Insurance

Must be pretty big increases coming for 2017.

The 2017 Illinois Group and Individual rate changes are now posted to:

Significant increases for individual plans. It looks like Land of Lincoln Health has 1 plan available...their traditional PPO. Don't know how they pulled that off, if they're running out of money.

The U.S. government (Health and Human Services) says that despite all the doom and gloom, premiums only went up $4 per month last year, because "most" people got a subsidy to offset the increases. So there's no need for alarm over 2017 either.

Yeah, right!!

A closer examination of the Blue Cross 2017 rate changes show that there is a wide range. Some people will see a 31% decrease, while others will see a 100% increase. Average state-wide 2017 premium increase is 50.2%. Wow.
