If you are a navigator, you cannot receive compensation from any insurance company.
In NC, there are only two groups that filed to be navigators. Both were small groups. NC has $2,000,000 set aside for navigators. Say they get paid $20/hr = $800/week; $800/wk*1/2 a year (how long 1st AEP is) = $20,800
2,000,000/20,800 per person = about 96 navigators at $20/hr for 26 weeks, not to mention the managers who would get paid more. So 96 navigators to assist 9,700,000 people...
What an unthought out mess!

Could one of you clarify if that was $2,000,000 set aside for navigator salaries ONLY, or if it was $2,000,000 for the navigator program? All the numbers I heard quoted for other states were for the whole program (facility fees, utilities, toll-free telephone line, navigator health insurance, administrators, assistants, etc.)
$2MM doesn't go so far when you have to pay for phones, rent, and employee benefits on top of salary. If that's the case, let's welcome in the 3 NC navigators, their 2 assistants, and manager.
