I am considering a career change to selling MA and MAPD plans. I have never sold insurance, rather worked in the reimbursement side of Senior Care for 20 years. Where can I find the CMS rules for agents selling MA or MAPD plans?

You will learn them in AHIP and carrier certification. Almost every carrier who deals in the MA / Part D market has agent guides to compliance and rules.

Thank you for that response! I have many contacts in the Senior Living industry. Before I decide to make the change, I am curious to what degree I can use those contacts for leads. For instance, can I hold workshops in an assisted living center? I have worked in LTC pharmacy since the introduction of Part D. We hold workshops every year, but we don't have a stake in the outcome. It is more of a convenience for the residents.

You should be able to find the information that you need in AHIP. There are many rules about the things you are describing, not knowing your specific situation, we can't really advise you.

Rule of thumb. If your marketing plan makes sense it probably is not allowed.

But if you work for a carrier, you can do anything you want.
