Who to get appointed with for life ins.?

O.K. Here's my opinion.

Try to find a company that:
1. Has a competitive term product, notice I said competitive, not cheapest. Don't set yourself up for heartache by trying to be the cheapest.
2. Has a decent/well performing whole life portfolio. In my opinion you should be looking at a mutual company.
3. Pays you decent commissions.
4. Provides good sales assistance and training opportunities.
5. Ideally this company would also have a decent disability product to sell. (This will allow you opportunity to get your production up and MAXIMIZE your contract).

My two suggestions are Ohio National and Illinois Mutual.

In most states, most carriers don't even want your appointment until you submit your first case due to the cost of maintaining rosters of inactive agents.
