Why Are Aged Leads of Such Little Value

Just curious as to why there is a consensus of opinion that aged leads have little or no value.

Why are virgin leads so much more valuable than one with a couple of weeks or months on them?

One of the reasons that I'm asking is that I routinely place leads months after my first contact. I'm not arguing the point, just interested in why they are perceived to be of such low quality.

More and more agents are working aged leads and having success. ROI really isn't an issue even if you're closing 1 out of 100 at $1 a pop. The agents doing this are all using dialers so there's really no manual effort. The dialer cranks away until someone answers.

Actually, they aren't so bad. Especially, your own aged leads.

Yeah, those are my favorite kinds of leads, also known as XDates. I would like to buy some aged leads, and load them into my CRM, have someone quote them, and then set calls to follow up at their renewal. Any suggestions on where to buy aged leads from in the chicagoland area? Thanks in advance
