why doesnt medicare part d cover "insulin lispro" ?

I just ran the drug today on Medicare.gov and it is covered by a few plans. You may want to run the drug with a zipcode in your area and see if it's covered by any of the plans. GL

28 PDP offerings in GA.

All of them cover Lispro.

Perhaps you don't know how to use the Plan Finder . . .

maybe youre right. but why don't you type in zip code "70508" and see for yourself how many of the 26 stand alone PDP's in Louisiana cover Lispro. You'll see that United health Care is the only one.

So your original question should have been "why isn't lispro on more Part D formularies?"

q1medicare draws their data from CMS, so there is some time lag, but the q1medicare data should be similar to plan finder.

when you go here:
Find a 2020 Medicare Part D or Medicare Advantage Plan by Drug

and put LA in state and type lispro in the medication field, you get 13 different formulations.

Your client may need to discuss alternative formulation prescriptions with his/her doctor.

(and a side note in the event it is helpful to you in this or other cases: I see you are a long term forum member, but in the event you have not seen the discussions in other threads, Mark's Marine Pharmacy is a possible Canadian pharmacy supplier for insulin products.)
