Working With An Established Agent

I'm in my fourth year in the industry and I've been working with an established agent for about a year, but we can't seem to get our joint work to really make us both super successful.

He has been with Pru for 29 years, but his current book is only 14 years old. He's got tons of experience and a large pool of clients.

He mostly has me calling his C and D clients and we've had a few sales here and there. For the most part, we do our own thing to survive.

How would you leverage a partnership with an experienced agent to really help both agents?

You need a new partner.

What was he doing his first 15 yrs with Pru?

After 14 yrs production he should be "set" unless he has been running a debit.

You need to ask yourself what do you bring to the table? He is bringing knowledge, experience and apparently prospects. Unless you can provide something of value, you can't expect him to be all enthused and continue to help you out of the goodness of his heart.
