In pursuit of appropriate tax treatment of the life insurance industry, GAMA International and AALU have entered into an official partnership on behalf of the distribution community.
The partnership announcement was made on the main stage at GAMA’s LAMP (Leadership & Management Program) conference in Washington D.C. last week by Bonnie Godsman, CEO of GAMA, and Marc Cadin, COO of AALU (both shown at right).
“AALU’s core strength in advocacy will be game-changing for our producers’ ability to serve their clients in an uncertain marketplace,” Godsman said. “The introduction of their legislative and regulatory expertise will be an incredible asset to GAMA members and their capacity to do business.”
The two organizations will share their core strengths for the ultimate benefit of both of their memberships. GAMA International is renowned for its aptitude in the professional development space, while AALU is the leading advocacy organization for life insurance professionals. The goal of this relationship is to begin to unify the industry’s messaging on Capitol Hill and provide critical resources to GAMA and AALU members, who serve as grassroots advocates for their clients.

Godsman will also join AALU leaders on their 2017 Annual Meeting main platform at the end of April.
Prior to announcing this partnership, AALU and GAMA were closely aligned for many years. Last week, AALU past president Nat Perlmutter was inducted into the GAMA International Management Hall of Fame — the organization’s most prestigious annual award recognizing individual field leaders who have spent their careers serving the industry and building a thriving practice.
