AmeriLife Direct partners with BGA on Medicare, other products

Insurance Forums Staff

AmeriLife Group, LLC, a national leader in developing, marketing and distributing annuity, life and health insurance solutions, recently announced an expanded partnership with One Resource Group (ORG) that will enable ORG’s 10,000 agents and advisors to refer their clients to AmeriLife Direct’s Medicare experts and full-service platform.

“With this partnership, ORG’s agents and advisors can refer Medicare prospects to AmeriLife Direct, thereby expanding their businesses and further strengthening their client relationships,” said Tony Wilson, ORG’s Executive Vice President and Principal, Variable Business. “AmeriLife Direct does all the required Medicare back-office work and we can be confident that customers will receive great service.”

ORG, based in Roanoke, Ind., is a fast-growing Brokerage General Agency with over $40 million of annual life insurance premiums and $200 million of annual annuity sales.

AmeriLife Direct provides Medicare Supplement, Prescription Drug and Medicare Advantage plans, and ancillary health insurance coverage from leading carriers to consumers via customer referrals from agents and advisors in insurance agencies and financial advisory firms. Organizations that may not be Medicare experts can benefit by partnering with AmeriLife Direct – a Medicare professional, the company said.

“We’re excited to build on our relationship with ORG,” said Kenneth J. Brannigan, president of AmeriLife Direct. “As more Baby Boomers approach retirement and face the challenge of incorporating health care expenses into their retirement plans, they are increasingly turning to trusted advisors at ORG and other firms for help in selecting Medicare plans. We work hard to make sure that agents and advisors at ORG – and all our partner firms – enjoy a professional and efficient experience that exceeds their expectations.”

White Paper highlights Med Supp opportunities created by MACRA 2020

AmeriLife also recently released a study highlighting the opportunities being created across the Medicare Supplement industry by the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (known as MACRA 2020).

“Change creates opportunity. And so it will be when MACRA takes effect in January,” said study co-authors Patrick J. Fleming, FSA, MAAA, AmeriLife’s Executive Vice President, Product Innovation and Corporate Actuary, and Charles F. Thalheimer, FSA, AmeriLife’s Executive Vice President and Corporate Actuary.

“Together with the larger demographic changes that continue to roll through the Medicare market, MACRA will create new opportunities for well-positioned insurance carriers and agents – and for the millions of individuals who: (1) are already covered by Medicare, or (2) will become Medicare eligible during the next few years.”

The white paper, titled “Get Ready for MACRA,” covers the following:

  • Analyzes the evolving Med Supp marketplace
  • Explains MACRA and corrects misperceptions about its short- and long-term impact
  • Predicts the future for “first-dollar” Med Supp plans and the options that will become available to current holders of those plans
  • Forecasts MACRA’s impact on broader Medicare consumer buying patterns
  • Describes the key role agents must play in guiding their clients through market changes
