Looks like your CIP Platinum plan members are in trouble. Here in Maryland the Platinum plan is out for 2009 and everyone is getting their term letter that will give them guaranteed issue back into a supp. However, that's not the case in the other markets. The platinum plan is sticking around with a $380 price tag. Higher than a med supp in most cases but these people are chronically ill and can't get back into a supp. Also, Evercare is raising their Maryland and Virginia premium on their chronic SNP to $70, yes $70/month. Benefits are mostly the same with $175/day 1-20 still in force. Looks like it's time to move all those Evercare and CIP people here in Maryland. The good news is Bravo has some great plans for 2009 including a premier plus plan for $81 that has $100/STAY at the hospital, regardless of length. Anybody in the Maryland market interested in sorting through this, let me know.
