26, but 27 in a few months...no "real" job, and not in school. After searching for insurance with my age, city/state, and non-smoker....they all start at $200-$220/month. Do I qualify for any discounts/assistance? or do I just pick one of these $200 month programs?

Wanted to do med school out of college, but took up an investment banking job out of college since they were basically paying me a doctors salary at 23. Hated the job, and wasn't good at it, so after a while they bumped me to a local bank with horrible pay....realized this isn't for me. After paying 200k in college loans I have about 50k left in savings... But, I don't plan on working for the next 3-6 months since I will be focusing on my med school application: studying for MCAT, doing research (non-paying), tutoring (very little pay). I plan on getting a paid job after my application in 3-6 months, than I can get loans for school + living expenses when I start Med school Aug '15.

If you're planning on going to med school, why consider an insurance job? Find a job that matches your talent and passion.

And those $200/month jobs sound questionable anyway.

I think that he is asking about purchasing a policy.

If so, you may be able to qualify for Medicaid, let us know what state that you reside in and someone here should be able to help.
