Well, we agents are not the only ones taking it in the chin. An AZ chiropractor shared with me today, that BCBSAZ has reduced their reimbursement/allowable charge amount from $80 to $40 per visit. Just $7 more than Medicare. Anything above 5 visits must be preapproved, adding to the burden. The typical Obama equation is in effect:

More work for less money = less client attention and more unemployed chiropractors

Many chiropractors have been going to a patient pay model, no insurance. This will only accelerate the process.

Is this really surprising? Haven't the insurance companies always been leery about chiropractors? I always thought the best way to get your medical claims from an auto accident red flagged was to see a chiropractor about it.

Which is ironic. I went to my primary physician for a back issue I've been dealing with, and he told me he saw nothing wrong and to take some Advil or Tylenol. 4 weeks later I collapsed during a run due to the pain.

Went to a chiropractor, received a few adjustments and massages, and I'm back to 85% or so with 2 treatments left on our plan of attack. Some residual pain in my leg/back, but it's improving as I'm changing what I was doing. All this improvement in 3 weeks, after going downhill after 5 weeks (+ initial period of being off).

Yet my chiro is the quack. Yeah, right.
