A Career Change

I'm thinking about changing from IT to selling car insurance. Working with parents whose kids are just getting their license. I just went through this had it has cost me over a $1,000 dollars just to switch companies.

I was thinking about adverting in school papers and yearbooks.. Running some seminars, speaking to PTA's, etc.

Has anybody else done this?
Does it sound viable?
