Can anyone tell me anything about this company? They are advertising for a sales agent in my area. I have tried searches for "AAA" "auto club" "auto club missouri" and can't find any threads on them. Thanks.

i'm looking more for personal opinions from people who have worked there or know others who have worked there. Are they a good company to work for/get started with? I'm new to the industry so i wasn't sure how they are percieved by others on this forum? thanks

They are originally out of CA.They sell p+c,life, vacations.Do a lot of advertising.Rates are generally good. You will start as an agent, then possibly make your way up to an agency manager. You will be captive, getting paid a salary + comm.Perhaps a good starting point for someone new as they will take you thru the whole training thing etc. They do have a good reputation.Hope this helps you in your decision

thanks for the info! Any idea what kind of salary/commision they offer and is it a true salary or just an advance? thanks again

If you are on the P&C side, it is not a bad route to go-- but beware--although you will be captive and working in a very micromanaged environment-- you are your OWN agent. Many have sunk or swimmed-- it is totally up to you. They pay their agents a decent base, plus commission. You will need 20 or more auto policies a month to stay in good graces. Don't even think about joining their life side-- that has been a disaster ever since they rolled it out earlier this decade. Problem with AAA is they think everywhere is like their beloved California. They really don't think outside of that box.

I work for AAA and I am in a call center. I have been working there for about 5 months and to start out in the insurance business, there really is no better place. You will start out making a base salary and commission. The big draw back is you do not get residuals on your policy. I would recommend going to work in a call center for AAA first because they give you all of your leads and no marketing has to be done at all. You are paid on a point system which is pretty funky, but you get used to it after a while. I feel like they took the time to train me on how to write apps and process calls quickly and be able to spot junk calls. If you are trying to get training wheels in this industry there is no better place to go.
