What an absolute joke....Not an economic bone in their body

AARP To Increase Employee Health Costs Partly Due To Healthcare Law.

The AP(11/5, Alonso-Zaldivar) reports, "AARP's endorsement helped secure passage of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul," but "now the seniors' lobby is telling its employees their insurance costs will rise partly as a result of the law." The AP adds, "In an e-mail to employees, AARP says health care premiums will increase by 8 percent to 13 percent next year because of rapidly rising medical costs," and the group "adds that it's changing copayments and deductibles to avoid a 40 percent tax on high-cost health plans that takes effect in 2018 under the law." Notably, "AARP officials said medical inflation is the main reason employee costs will be going up. The health care law is 'a small part,' said David Certner, legislative affairs director."

All health insurance premiums have been going up for years due to rising medical care costs. No news there. Raising deductibles and co-pays NOW due to something that MIGHT happen in 7 years is just a convenient excuse for doing so. But, any negative Obamacare publicity is useful ammunition for getting this law scaled back.

They endorsed it, said it will lower cost, then increased costs to EE's and blamed a "small part" on reform. I guess they were wrong. Any Small part = higher cost in my book.
