I am a new IA and am currently focusing on commercial lines of business. What is the best way to gain access to markets? I am currently using Iroquois and the market access subject confuses me. How can I gain the best access to the carriers I need for my business? Is it bad to use multiple wholesalers? (I do not have an exclusive contract.) I have talked to other wholesalers for some more markets and to provide personal lines to my commercial clients and I feel all these companies do a lot of double talk (i.e. it cost nothing then they want a monthly fee, they say they don't need an exclusive agreement then they present an exclusive agreement, they say they can write one type of risk then they say they cant ect...). Most of my current business relationships are commercial real estate owners, real estate developers, and some manufacturing/distribution/wholesale.
