Agent Lies

I had a client call me tonight. It seams a girl called him from Loyal American and gave him a quote for a med-supp. He told her that he has an agent and we just did a policy review last month.
Due to the fact that he is insulin diabetic with high blood pressure and A-Fib he is uninsurable with every Company I carry for a med-sup. He currently carries plan F that I sold him 2 years ago.
I had quotes to see if I could get a better price that I showed him, but do to the health problems he now has I advised him to keep his current plan.

Tonight a girl told him she can get him on Loyal American and give him a better rate than I can (She beat my rate I quoted by $40 of course he would not qualify) because she is "direct with the company" and he should always go around an agent to get the "best rate"
I now thats a flat lie, He knows this girl is not being honest but he wanted to let me know she was calling him.

I have her name and looked it up on the ODI and she is in Texas she got her NON-Resident license on the 4th of March and has no active appt on it.

Should I turn this girl in to Loyal American, ODI or get her number and call her direct and give her a warning. I dont like screwing with anyone trying to make a living but she is flat out lying to prospects.

Re: Agent Lie

Why don't you have him submit the app just to see if they would decline like you said they would? If he does and they decline, he's free of any doubts and will trust you even more. If he doesn't, he'll still trust you more for calling her bluff.

When we looked last month Loyal American was a company I called, they told me he would be declined. The rate I was sending him in under was Standard rate.
She said she can beat my rate by $40 because she is direct and I jack up the rate as a fee.
He already knows he cant get it I showed him the email from the company I dont need to put him threw it.

I also looked this girl up on the Texas Dept of insurance she has no active license in that state.

Re: Agent Lie

Or... you turn in the ap for LA, watch him get declined, then help him file a complaint. I hate direct agents that act like they can do something we can't. There are some at MOO that do the same thing.

Re: Agent Lie

3 way call back to her and after she makes all those promises jump in and let her know that you have already tried but your going to go ahead and give her a shot.

Politely remind her that if she fails to do what she promises she can that Mr. Client and you will be filing formal complaints.

Then see if she proceeds or not. If she declines to proceed I would still file a complaint if you think she is not acting in a professional manner.

I like this idea best.

She's pretty green and sometimes a warning will stop this. I would leave your client out of the meat grinder and not put him through the charade of applying and being denied.

A similar case of home office agent crooked sales tactics;

Recently an agent called my Mutual client telling him he should change plans because his rates will go up April 1st. The agent then sent my client a one pager of the DOI rate increase filing. Problem is my client started January 1st and will not get a notice from Mutual until November for a January 1, 2011 rate increase (12 month rate guarantee).

Shouldn't Mutual be the first to contact my client when there's a rate increase? This agent has a track record of clean sheeting and promising clients that their rates will never go up.

Should I turn him in?
