Perhaps I missed it, but if so, I'm surprised that no one mentioned Alan Benedict's article in the Nov. issue of Insurance Selling Mag. Contains some very good info that I never though about before. If your reading this, thanks Alan.

I read it but it just doesn't apply to my business. It's never once come up in a conversation with prospects or clients that they want to be interred in another country.

I can see where it would be helpful knowledge if you are in an immigrant heavy area.

I sold a policy to a Bosnian lady last year who is planning to go back home after retirement. She wasn't at all concerned about final expenses after getting there. She just wanted to make sure she had $ for transportation if she should die in the US. Wrote her on a 10 year Am-Am EZ Term. Perfect fit!

Good article. Immigrants can be great prospects, although they're a little difficult to reach without a referral from someone they trust.

Another good opportunity here is foreign nationals (non-u.s. citizens permanently residing in another country) who own U.S. assets.

These individuals only have an estate tax credit of 13k (resulting in 60k of sheltered assets).....not a good situation for parents who purchase U.S real estate for their child (as an example).

I remember when I first started selling Med supps, I responded to a lead that was an Indian guy. I wrote a policy for him and like a month later, he referred me to 8 other couples, all originally from India. The best part was that he acted like I was doing a favor for him. He has no idea how much those referrals mean to a newbie. They are all still on the books today...

Immigrant communities use the a lot of the same professionals...
