Hey agents/brokers just as a heads up when you are competing against an Allstate policy that was written between 2012 and now, they are no longer offering a deductible on "tropical/cyclone" at 1K. Most policies will come with a percentage of the dwelling (at least in the north east area)

Not bashing Allstate (I am a captive agent my self of a different company) but I run into a lot of people saying that my rate is only comparable to theirs, until I mention the fact that its going to cost them $X if a hurrican rolls through.

Have a good weekend !

Do you know come renewal time are they getting the same deal?

If they had an existing policy prior to 2012 then they are still eligible to keep the 1k deductible. Only new policies are not offered that deal

pretty much all states in the SE have this at best. most carriers will give you a wind and hail deductible meaning wind damage or hail damage falls under this. Better companies will do a tropical or named storm deductible and the best do hurricane deductibles.

I think after the recent storms most of the east coast will progress to a similar format. It is a very easy selling point for sure though if you can do an all peril at 1k including storms
