I have a man that needs as much insurance as he can get his hands on. Not sure what he can afford, but he was turned down for some plan recently. (Helpful, I know. I'm helping out a family friend.)

Here's the story:
65 year old vet- on VA disability (It's probably VA retirement)- for what, unknown, but I believe it is heart related. Also on Social Security.
He is adopting my family friend's kid- so wants to make sure they are provided for.
Goal- $250,000 in coverage. Reality, I'm not sure they can afford $50,000.

Help me out! Which carriers will write that much with heart related issues? Who writes it in WA. If you tell me what questions to ask, I will find out.

(I'm just a dumb Med Sup agent.)

Is he just looking for something while the kid is in their home? If so, term might be better for him value wise. Final Expense, he's looking at 25 - 35k in Washington State.

Kid is 8 months old. Term would be more suited in this situation, but he has been turned down every where they've looked.
They need something. At this point, anything is better than nothing.

Start with a list of his meds including any appliances such as charges, cane, wheelchair. Hospital visit in the last 5 years and why he see his doc on regularly scheduled visits. What ever that pulls up start there. Second option is have one of us call him for you and get the answers.

If qualified an ROP term with a rdpu option at the end may work well. Maybe UHL.
