Anyone Use Paypal to Process Premium Payments?

Looking into using paypal for accepting payments from clients using credit cards. The fee's seem to be pretty reasonable compared to our merchant account with our local bank, any downside to using paypal? I also checked around and it appears some agencies accept paypal and just tack on the 2.9% service charge.

I'm thinking of using squareup.com for mobile phone cc processing. I've ordered the equipment, which was free and they charge no set up and only a per transaction fee. I thought it was nifty if I needed it.

Nice. That is pretty cutting edge approach to use Square for accepting payments...

Blinksale (Blinksale | The easiest way to send invoices online) might be another option to use as it allows for invoices to be sent on a recurring time frame along with payment options for your clients of PayPal or Blinkpay

the downside to using paypal is the time that it takes for you to collect your money. people with paypal accounts have told me it takes about a week from the time the buyer pays to when the seller collects (meaning the money is deposited and available). that can be a major problem.

I looked into google checkout, but I didn't like that you had to sign up with google to use it. With paypal, you can pay using your cc/debit card and not sign up, just put in your cc info and pay.

Depending on the dollar amount, with paypal you have to do the same.

I like google's chargeback policy more.

Of all the payments I've taken over the last year or so I only have one person that's had a challenge with it, everyone else has been smooth as glass.

Do you know what the $ amount is? I didn't see anywhere that you actually had to sign up with paypal

I don't recall, but it irritates me because I wanted to give $100 or $200 using my business checking card instead of my personal accounts that are linked to my paypal account. With google, they may have to setup an account, but that only takes a few minutes, paypal is much much more work.
