Auto Insurance Appointments

Hello all

I have recently taken over a existing agency with a book of business of about $250,000 annual premium. The agency did mainly homeowners insurance. I come from a heavy auto insurance background and I am trying to cross sell to my existing business for auto but we only have appointments with 3 auto insurance carriers that are always priced to high. I know its really hard to get appointments if your a starting an agency right off the bat but how hard will it be for me to get new appointments. What companies should I go after and any advice and help will be greatly appreaciated. Thanks

What state are you in? So you write alot of monoline homeowners, why not pole them and ask who thier auto insurance is with currently and while you are at it ask for the expiration date.

In the future when you get the company you want you are armed with the information to go back and quote them.

Look for a company that is strong in both auto and home so you can give auto home discount.

I am in California. I have been calling my existing book and selling them on getting a quote but I am always a few hundred dollars higher.
