AXA Agents Appointed with Other Carriers

I am new to the business. Is it acceptable/common for AXA advisors to be appointed with other carriers? Thank you for any insight you may have.

When I considered AXA Advisors 13 years ago, it was a captive shop but I'm not sure how they operate today.

They are still "captive" but as many captives, they have their own "network" of other companies for their captive agents to use if necessary.

It's my understanding that their endorsed outside network is pretty good.

When I was with AXA about 10 years ago, we ran our business thru CRUMP, on all insurance outside of AXA Equitable.

That probably has changed by now. But you do have access to other carriers.
