In July due to being in a Medicare supplement with escalating premiums due to being in a closed book of business, I changed to a Humana Advantage plan. I did it with the idea of exercising my GI right to go back to OM and a supp plan. But then I ended being admitted to the hospital so I held onto the advantage plan. In the end, it has cost me more than my supp premium would be. With the co pays, It seems I was paying out every time I turned around.

Had a problem with a couple of my providers not being in network even though it indicated they were when we checked before I signed up.

Had problems getting an MRI that my Dr. ordered approved.

Then, home health care was ordered, nursing; PT and speech therapy. Humana only approved 16 visits total. At the end of those visits they refused the recertification. Didn't have that problem the last time with OM.

Had one specialist my Dr. Wanted me to see that I could not see because he was not in network.

Finally, when I got my 2025 booklet, I saw my Drug deductible was going from 0 to $590 so I decided to go back to OM with a supp. I chose a plan G for $197 and a PDP for $27. It was effective today. No more networks, precepts, etc. Plus it is cheaper in the long run. And, my agent gets paid.

The only problem is I chose the Humana med sup and providers rend to think I still have an Advantage plan. Have to school them on the difference in the coverage.
