Got a letter yesterday, BCBST has terminated their contract with the FMO that was providing contracting for their MA plans. Agent contracts will have to be moved to direct with BCBST.

Will not effect renewal commissions.

Some of us were direct already.

I was told that you actually had to contract through that FMO, which may not have been true. I got some shoddy advice when I first started, wouldn't shock me if it was BS.

The FMO also said they were going to provide "free" leads, but then they turned around and said they were only available to agents that had sold at least 25 policies the prior year after contracting was complete.

That was basically true. If you were not ALREADY direct, you had to go through them.
