You gotta admit, that's pretty funny and pithy.

From Yahoo News

On Monday each side offered the first of what are likely to be dozens of amendments, with the measures seemingly designed as much to court a skeptical public as to reshape Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid's 2,074-page bill.
Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., attacked the legislation as a "monstrosity" that employs "Bernie Madoff accounting, Enron accounting" as he offered the first GOP amendment. McCain's amendment would strip out more than $400 billion in Medicare cuts to home health providers, hospitals, hospices and others — a pitch to seniors, who polls show have deep concerns about the legislation.

Okay, I think that Medicare which is already circling the toilet shouldn't take it on the chin with Healthcare for the under 65 crowd but wouldn't the $400 million McCains admendment strips out directly increase the cost of the bill by $400 million? I'm sure they will find a way to hide any fact like that.

No one in their right mind thinks Medicare is going to be cut so it doesnt really increase the cost of the bill it just reflects reality.

They just stripped 250 billion out of the bill for the doc-fix and put it into a separate bill so that it would lower the cost of the health reform bill. That is complete and total voo-doo / Madoff accounting. They should put that back in too. It does lower the cost of health reform by cutting two separate checks and it is not as though they are removing a pork program. The doc-fix is part of the program for gawd's sake.

It just gets me so dang mad when I see this crap I mean most people in this country realize we are spending way too much money and the numbers on this bill are outrageous and Congress knows this so they are play hide the pickle with the true cost.....I wonder how much the numbers would come down if we where able to cut down the portions of the bill that are only there to bribe a member of congress and have nothing to do with healthcare and special provisions like the 4 states whos medicaid programs will be held harmless by this bill while screwing the other 46 or in Obama speak the other 53.
