Blocking Markets?

How soon in advance can you block the markets & how do u know when an insured is looking around for quotes, how do i keep them? One way i know is when the request loss runs..

Depends on the carrier. Some I have seen 90 days some I have seen 0.

Isn't shopping for the best rates value and quality service? If you are out to market 90 days prior to the renewal and you happen to block other agents from providing a quote with your carriers, you are doing your job.
