Hi everyone,
I am a brand new (as of yesterday) licensed L&H agent. I was looking for a new job (I had been working in what turned out to be a dead end job for a non-profit organization) and Combined insurance recruited me to join their team as a captive agent. I haven't started working yet, I haven't even been to their sales school yet, and I am both excited at the new opportunity and a bit nervous that I have taken such a hard turn away from what I was doing.
I like the guy who is going to be my territory manager a whole lot and, from what I can tell, with Combined that's the most important thing. He's been in the business a while and looks like he will be a high quality mentor. I also have a little idea of what it takes to be successful in a related field as my Dad has been selling TSAs to teachers in California for 30 years and does very well for himself. TSA's aren't exactly supplemental insurance...but I do know about the realistic hours that go into being successful.
So, anyone have any advice? Anyone worked for Combined before, or worked selling supplemental insurance? What should I be expecting these first few months? I hit the streets in April to start selling for real and the more I know going in, the happier I think I will be.
