House Republicans have held 40 votes to repeal Obamacare, but their promise to come up with legislation to replace it with something else has been far more elusive. That may be about to change after legislation from the Republican Study Committee that is intent on replacing the Affordable Care Act. How far do you think this will get?

We'll see where it leads, but 3 years and many hundreds of millions of dollars have been invested in Obamacare, if that is all scrapped by this proposal, there is no way they will get it approved. If it isn't in place before October 1, there is also no way it's getting approved. If anyone even gets the promise of a subsidy, and that is lost by this plan, there is no way it's getting approved.

From my standpoint, it's highly unlikely it gets approved.

If I was playing softball, and the other team had runners on all 3 bases, but someone at bat that couldn't hit the ball, would I be talking about changing the rules at this point? Just let them strike out for heaven's sake.

Let them blame Bush. Any Republican interference at this point will become the new blame, since the "blame Bush" strategy is getting mighty weak.

I'm with Ann. I was having a conversations with someone recently about delaying everything and I took the position that it would be a shot in the foot. The republicans are already known for standing in the way and grandstanding in general. The best thing they can do right now is close their mouths and let it roll. The best thing for the party now is for people to actually get stuck with what Obamacare has to offer.

I don't know, but Rubio was in town today and spouting is mouth that they are sure going to try when congress reconvene's. If they managed to have a govt shut down, yes they have shot not only themselves in the foot but also the head. I swore while Bush was in office I'd never vote for another republican, but then along came obama so I had to. But this is it, if I feel neither is any good I just won't vote and I also will not complain whoever get's elected.

The majority of the Republican leadership must have the IQ of a ping pong ball.
Why on earth don"t they quit wasting time and money on "symbolic votes" to repeal Obamacare, instead they need to shut up and let the ACA take its course.
In a very short time people, (even the uninformed voter) will see that there is not going to be any free lunch, instead a substantial portion of their income will have to be spent on this remake of the titanic.
