Can I Have the Best of Both Worlds?

In addition to becoming aninsurance agent, Icurrently have a nightly janitorial company. My question is, when I do B2B, whether by phone or door-to-door, would I be frowned upon by people for marketing to different services?

How should I handle this? Is there a way I can market both or do I need to let one go?

You may be able to market both if you establish yourself as insurance and only offer the janitorial as an incidental secondary business. I probably would not want to buy my insurance from a guy who is primarily janitorial.

I agree with you. I would feel weird about doing it too.I guess I could have some one else sell my janitorial for me.

If you want to do both businesses I would just keep them separate in the eyes of the client. You can always recommend the janitorial service that you use to your clients and as a janitor you can always recommend the guy that you buy your business insurance from to your clients. I assume that you are not actively participating in both businesses (meaning you aren't pushing a mop). I would think that if one of your janitors gave your card to a business owner that it would be just fine.

This could be a dangerous place to go. You could be considered a jack of all trades and a master of none. Good luck.

Always remember the saying " you can't serve 2 masters at the same time".

but with the current situation that we have who cares with this saying as long as you know how to handle both worlds carefully and differently.
