CCDB

Current Carrier DataBase. It's used in auto insurance.

Of the major national & regional carriers the only one that jumps out is Auto-Owners. Smaller regionals (e.g. Farm Bureau in NC) sometimes don't participate also. If the prior insurance is not there we usually need dec pages to give prior insurance discounts.

if i see a gap, its up to the prospect to inform me of what insurance company they had and send me a dec page.

like, i know Geico reports, so when i see a gap and they say they had insurance , more likely then not , i am wasting my time quoting them with a quote i know when i ask for a dec page i will never see it.

Occasionally (but rarely) the CCDB is incorrect so yes, still try and get dec pages, but like MN Princess said, you're likely not to get one.
