Sorry for all of the questions fellow forum mates - still learning FE the hard way. Do most carriers chargeback if the client dies in the first year and the claim is contested? What about not contested?

Being contested does not cause the chargeback but being rescinded does. Yes all carriers will charge back 100% of death claims if there was misrepresentation involved. And they will term you if you have too many of these.
