Cold Calling FE Prospects

Is there anyone here who regularly does this or know anyone who does?? Im considering this approach (I wont be the 1 calling), but Ive only heard it mentioned on here a few times here & there. But whos doing this on consistently, anyone?

Is yes, Id like some feedback on some DOs & DONTs please...Inc (if applicable) "Dont do it at all", lol! I need help as to if this is even worth trying...its a prof telemarketer that would be calling, with a 10yr track record. He's done 100's of diff compaigns, but I believe he said while hes had insurance agents as clients before, he doesnt think he's ever done Final Exp specifically.

I did this to start out. I think I might go back to doing it myself. I made more off of my own leads than TM leads. It's definitely workable. And you should probably have enough people that are not on the dnc to keep you busy for awhile.

I have recently hired a tm to do this, its viable...
Josh is right though, do it yourself and you will have a way better percentage, it takes so much time to train a tm on not only a jist of insurance, but also objections etc. Its hard to train them to be that inquisitive to keep asking questions.
I know of one person on this forum that cc for FE, me and him butt heads on here once in a while so I have never got a chance to talk to him about it. I also know another that does it, but on and off and does well.

Don't forget, its the same type of prospect, that might agree on the phone, but once you show up, nope! Its the numbers...

The thing about tm leads...they have a half-life of direct mail. You can always go to someone and say, hey you filled this out, did you get it taken care of? But its harder to engage that person saying you talked to them on (date), they won't remember.

I have been thinking about running an ad in Craigslist for hiring a telemarketer. The costs might end up the same as ordering TM leads if you consider your time involved and controlling costs and finding somebody with good experience. (I would rather just order them, I get them for 14bucks from a trusted lead source)..Yes they are not fully TM but that's they way I like them. You are not pushing the sale when somebody half the time isn't interested. My system, they have to leave there information after the recording.

I would say if you are doing it on your own, its well worth giving it a shot. MAKE sure you order a scrubbed DNC list.

Josh and others can help you with the list and a dialer that would suite your needs.

Personally, I have tried doing this on my own a while back and got burned out after only 2 days!..lol...burn out is high, but if you can make it work, its more cost effective to do on on your own.

Well I spent my first week on a dialer for about 15 hours and produced 20 leads. These would be suspects in MLM's mind. The next week I went out to work those leads and sold a little under 3K in AP. But I didnt have enough time to dial for more leads the week I was out selling.

That's why I started buying leads.

Just so you know, I wasnt setting appts and most folks thought something was getting mailed out to them when I just showed up at their door. It would be nice to have these leads to door knock when your in between appts or get stood up.

Im getting ready to start DM leads in a few weeks, so we'll see how it goes. I was trying to hire a telemarketer to reproduce what I was doing, but it was time consuming just trying to hire a telemarketer. I cant imagine the time to actually manage one...

Ok, im just trying to get ideas...Im not looking to replace all my DM leads, I would never do that. Im looking to add, but I also dont want ALL DM leads.

Im not doing this myself...too much time & Im not good on the phone, esp COLD CALLING!

Im just trying to see if u have a person whos proven good at generating leads cold calling & u have a good list is it viable long term? Hes not setting the appt for me, just generating the lead!

And tips on scripts never hurts...I have Mark's & the ones of Josh's website!

Finding and hiring the right person takes time, have you completely given up on finding a TM?
