Anyone using these with any luck? I think its a little soft, but I know a lot of agents who use them with success (even the top producers :1arghh:) .

I haven't had much luck with lead companies and telemarketers on the CL or PL side. Mostly a waste of time and money. But I do my own prospecting/ telemarketing and I need to get my CL numbers up....

I've used them before with marginal success. Make sure you confirm the appt before you go.
The people making the phone calls get paid per appt so they tend to force appts on people. I had a few people tell me they just said yes to get the person to stop calling them.
I guess it all depends on the telemarketing firm but be careful and make sure they have a way to connect hot leads to you.

how many hours a week do you spend prospecting and what do you use to prospect? (i.e. just googling industries, phonebook...etc)

Not enough! A minimum of 1 hour a day of hand to hand combat- in person or on the phones. That would be -10 walk ins or 25-30 calls. I try to get it done first thing before the day gets going.... and gets away from me....
I go in or I cold call targeted SICs- I get lists from Reference and the data is usually legit for the most part.

I have better conversions going in person, but it is time consuming.... and I run the whole agency.

I know I need to dial it up and increase the activity.

Hey man, we always need to up the production! Personally, I am not very fond of outsourcing prospecting for this reason: in a small town (like where I am) business owners talk regularly. Most of the time a business owner such as a contractor will not meet with you to go over the quoting information if they don't remember talking to you when you got the x-date. Now I cannot speak for larger regions. When you say you research by SIC, what sites do you use to reference? I've never found a site that lists each business under a particular SIC, thanks!

Italianik that is fantastic! Get that X date or appointment set. Prospecting and referrals are the keys to this business. I seem to get real busy real easy with quoting and writing. Then when the phone gets slow, I get all busy with prospecting activities, and it cycles over. But I'm sure thats just me...

Happy Selling.
