Confused Newbie Question: 100% Comission or 30% Commission

Farmers vs independents

the benefits of Farmers are obvious, but the commissions paid of life policies
are small.

I've seen independents paying 90%-110% on life ins sales.

If I can have a steady stream of prospects do I really need the
Farmers name ?

That's a big "if"... Particularly with little or no training.

Decisions based on compensation alone are shortsighted at best.

If your going to be doing Life and not P&C why look at a P&C carrier....

The Farmers name may be helpful with car insurance but it isn't going to help you much with Life Insurance.

Training will help you. The Farmers name won't. And if you try to sell a P&C company to the general public with their life insurance products you will fighting an up hill battle. They are usually very easy to beat.
