For a typical independent agent contract with a P & C agency, is the policy fee included before the split? What is a typical split? Thanks!

For a typical independent agent contract with a P & C agency, is the policy fee included before the split? What is a typical split? Thanks!

Is the agency charging the policy fee? If yes, there are usually a lot of expenses in the cost of doing business and it depends if you are getting commission on new/renewal and how much work is involved in servicing compared to commission.

If no and the policy fee is from a broker, there's usually no commission on the policy fee so split does not apply.
