Coventry/Carelink Withdraws from W. Virginia Exchange.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Carelink/Coventry Health Care has pulled out of the state's individual insurance marketplace, leaving Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield West Virginia as the only current option for West Virginia residents who buy subsidized health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.

Allen - thanks for the info. This is a real shame. I was at a meeting just last week with Aetna/Coventry brass and they stated how committed they were to the market, etc. etc.

Yes..it's amazing how lower and middle management often has the rug pulled out from under them by one or two guys at the top. I've witnessed many excited managers proclaiming one thing or another, only to have one powerful person at the top make a decision that instantly flushes days and weeks worth of preparations, seminars, etc... AETNA's CEO is a no B.S., instant decision type of guy.
