OH...IO
I have a guy that was in a 3 for coventry an wanted to switch to a 5 for the lower co pays and for a option for drugs. He is a veteran and has coverage though them and has also had coverage though coventry for the last few years both at the same time. Question is will moving from a plan 3 to plan 5 affect his veterans coverage. I would think not sense he has been in both for years but you never know with how messed up the system is.

He'll be able to move with no problem.

I have done that once last year for a client and it worked out fine. Just make sure to sign him up for the drug plan too if the 3 had one included with it. (Don't have 3 here in the area, just 1,2,&5)

Are you sure he must have PDP coverage? I thought VA benefits (if enrolled) are creditable, so I wouldn't think he would HAVE to have a PDP, just a good thing if it is part of a MAPD. I certainly don't think I would insist that he have a MA only and a stand-alone PDP. This is a tough one to call.

What is important is to establish that the veteran is actually enrolled in the VA program. Just being a veteran doesn't qualify. I know... I am a Viet Nam vet, but never enrolled to get my benefits until it was too late and Congress ended the funds for my level.
