Cross selling to Medicare book

Anyone with experience selling annuities predominantly to a book of Medicare clients? I've sold annuities here and there over the years, but really have never put the time and effort into making it a priority. With all the disruption in the Medicare space right now, I'm getting much more serious about becoming proficient in other product lines. I guess more specifically, my question is, is anyone here successfully leading with Medicare while consistently cross selling annuities, or are most successful agents leading with and focusing primarily on annuities instead?
