Yes look at SIAA big upfront fee though. Also Progressive will probably appoint you. You might have to work as producer to learn the ropes. Build a book and then g to the big companies also look at Grange and Erie they might help.
In Florida, getting appointments isn't easy, but it also depends on what area you are in. If you are in South Florida I would say close to impossible. If not, there are a few that appoint anyone with a license it seems. Universal property and Casualty is one.
Edit: I was assuming homeowners, but from your original post and comment about standard, that makes me think auto, as for auto like someone said previously, the big carriers are going to be difficult for you, although Progressive might be of help to you. A friend of mine started a new agency not too long ago (within a year or two) and has appointments with some of the larger carriers, but he had to agree to write a certain amount per year or they will cancel the appintment.
An aggregator will pool volume from several smaller agencies and use the aggregate volume to negotiate with carriers for better contracts. They take a small piece and pass on the rest. I am IMS/Connect.
