Easy Indy P & C Appointments

Hi guys,

I wasn't sure if I was posting this in the right spot. I searched the forum already but really didn't find what I was looking for. I am a captive that may be looking to go indy. I am in NY and was looking for some advice regarding some companies that will be easy to appoint with. If I do go Indy, I will likely use a cluster, but I was looking for a few auto carriers to go to directly. I know Progressive and Mercury would be the 1st 2 that I would go to. Does anyone know of any others?

Thanks in Advance..

Hi Guys,

I would really like some help from those in here that have a wealth of experience. Any advice on carriers that you will have a relatively easy time getting appointed with? I can show production, but the book would not be coming with me, and as I understand it, the main players see that as a 0, and won't appoint you until you hit a certain number.

Thanks in advance again,

Choose your cluster wisely. That is your best option.

Good Luck.

Dave

Thanks Dave. What do you mean? I know the cluster I will likely go with gives me at least 5 carriers and is non-exclusive. But I want to have some direct appointments as well. I'm almost positive Progressive and Mercury will appoint me, but do you know of any other ones that are fairly easy to get appointed with?

In most places, you'll only be able to go direct with nonstandard auto carriers without experience or a book of business. Look into National General, and I've heard a couple NY guys talking about TSC.

Thanks indie. That's pretty much what I was figuring but was looking for a few others that maybe I hadn't heard of. Who is tsc?

Liberty mutual via a Mutual of Omaha contract.... Ask for the one w/ lowest life requirement, it should be a $1,000 of life sales a year... Real easy.

PGI is a great cluster group, I should have the Liberty contract next week. National General had been pretty good on preferred for me.
