I had a client today put a hold on a policy because of the Fair Credit Reporting Act paperwork. Seems he objects to the verbage that they have the right to investigate his information, up to and including interviewing his neighbors. How many of you have gotten this objection?
How do you soothe the client who is up in arms about this perceived invasion of privacy?

I have talked to him on the phone a couple times now about it and let him know all financial institutions have this notification in their paperwork by law. He even has bought other insurance from me and I let him know its in their too. Just curious how other agents tackle this objection.

I rarely encounter this objection-- most clients realize that today's paper world requires such...

Nothing more than you've already said. That disclaimer is in any "relase of information" doc. be it financial or medical in nature.

Will they... NO. Do they have to have "that" exact disclaimer based on your state... YES.

In all seriousness; do you think he has something to hide?

No he does not. He is just a private kinda guy. Older gentleman who just wants to be left alone to live his life with his wife, kids and grandkids.

And no, it's not me, I have a great relationship working with him over the last 2 years.
