Any f/t FE agents out there (specifically in Cali- but if not, wherever) doing med supps too for their clients? Just trying to get a sense of how often your FE clients turn into MS clients too? From past post, I know there's f/t MS agents that do some FE on the side, but Im looking for the opposite.

I believe JD says he does about 25 a yr, so 2 a month....what about anyone else??

Thx

I mainly bird dog the Med Sup sales to my wife. But she writes a bunch of them. We rarely do a med sup mailing. We write them all off our FE base.

She requires 100% of them to come to her office. I told her that would never work when she started that. I was wrong. The people who come in are much more loyal and refer a lot more people.

It's the best of both worlds. I don't get as distracted with the medicare but we don't miss opportunities either.

they go hand in hand... i always liked sending the FE mailer, then when I get to the house, save them money on the supp, then they can't tell you they can't afford the FE, bc you just saved them 50/mo

TD, a good start would be to start doing a medicare fact finder with everyone you meet with for FE, even the people that don't buy (if they will let you). If you decide to add med supps you will have a nice base to get started with by the time you get training, appointed, etc....

You will find that Medicare Advantage will be sold more to the FE clients.

It really depends on the area. Here in Tampa, it is loaded with MA plans. There is several folks that have MA that would not be considered low income or even medium.

Mainly the reason is med supps are well over 200/M in this area.

Both have there advantages and disadvantages.

I would say a good resource for you is Rick. He lives in Cali and has a lot of experience in advantage plans and sups.

You can also subscribe to senior marketing and listen in on webinars and forums to get a feel for the market and products.

I think med supps are expensive here too, but I was told MA is a totally diff animal, so really havent inquired about that. Guess I should look into both, thx.

A good start would be name of current Plan, Medications list, list of physicians, what do you like about current plan?, what do you dislike about current plan?, etc...
